Close to 400 people kicked off the holiday season at the 2026 Light Up Valley Village celebrations on Saturday December 6. This marked the fifteenth anniversary of the beloved local event.

You can be part of the change by sending your opinions on how the city functions.  Answer a few brief questions in the public survey to let the Commissioners your thoughts on matters like the city budget, the size of LA's City Council, the power give to the Mayor, City Attorney and other leaders.  

The audience enjoyed pizza from Joe Peep's while asking questions about home safety, recent crime statistics, and steps that will help everyone remain vigilant about crime during the holiday season. "We hope this is the beginning of a stronger Neighborhood Watch program in Valley Village" said NCVV Board member Danny Jordan.

More than 50 volunteers targeted Valley Village and collected almost 30 large bags of trash as part of Shine LA. Other NCVV Board Members participated in the Congress of Neighborhoods at City Hall.

Hundreds of neighbors came together in Valley Village Park to celebrate the 41st National Night Out. This was NCVV's NNO 20th event, and everyone who joined the cool breezes and smooth sounds of the Jimmy Dale Band had the opportunity to recognize the importance of community in times of trouble and need.

Mayor Karen Bass paid a visit to Valley Village on July 24 to speak about the importance of art in the city of Los Angeles. The meeting featured comments from Mayor Bass, stressing the importance of arts in a strong, vibrant city, and spoke to her commitment to supporting organizations and groups that promote opportunities in the arts.

Neighborhood Council Valley Village celebrated the nation's birthday with our annual pancake breakfast, sponsored with staff and members of the congregation of Faith Presbyterian Church.
