In 2023 Your Neighborhood Council Valley Village was all about community:
- Forum for Discussing Neighborhood Issues
- Hosting Events that Build Community
- Grants that Support Valley Village
We created a forum for discussing community issues and weighed in with the community’s input to our elected representatives on issues that include:
- Land use issues
- Historic preservation of Live Oak trees on North Hollywood High School campus
- Tree & biodiversity planning and city’s urban canopy coverage
- Encampment presentation by Caltrans
- Opposed electronic Metro Billboards
- Began process to identify opportunities in Valley Village for Regional Housing Needs Allocation with minimal impact to single and multi family communities
- Al Fresco Dining
- Worked with Caltrans to complete landscaping of 170 freeway
We hosted and participated in community building events:
- Community Emergency Response Team Training with 40 Graduates
- Earth Day Shredding
- Coffee with a Cop
- 4th of July Pancake Breakfast
- 2023 National Night Out
- NCVV 20th Anniversary Celebration
- Light Up Valley Village
- Holiday Food and Toy Drive
We funded community grants:
- North Hollywood High School Marching Band
- Burbank Blvd Elementary School Community Garden
- Colfax Charter Elementary Mural and World Fair
- Valley Village Gateway Sign Repair
