Close to 400 people kicked off the holiday season at the 2026 Light Up Valley Village celebrations on Saturday December 6. The day began at the Valley Village Farmers Market, 5000 Colfax Avenue, with coffee and treats, live entertainment sponsored by Village Arts, and the opportunity to drop off food and toys to help families in need. Later in the day the party moved to the intersection of Whitsett and Magnolia where merchants opened their doors and offered discounts on purchases, Joe Peeps and Rustic Spoon provided food, live music kept the crowd entertained and Santa visited with children of all ages. Toys and food were also collected by the NCVV Student Committee.
This year marked the fifteenth anniversary of the beloved local event.
