2022 APPLICATION* FOR STUDENT SEATS- NCVV BOARD OF DIRECTORS .

Join the Board of Directors of Neighborhood Council Valley Village as a Student Board Member. Eligible students must live or attend school in Valley Village and be 16 years old by December 2, 2022. We plan to fill at least four (4) seats on Student Committee this session. Applications will be accepted May 1st to an extended deadline July 15, 2022.
The Selection process will occur through July/early August; selection and training in August; with positions beginning September 1, 2022. Students selected have the option to serve two years, or through the end of their senior year, as mutually decided by the Board.

  • Support various community activities and projects throughout the year, including the NCVV
    Student Volunteer Corps opportunities for leadership and service.
  • SC Leadership committee is greatly encouraged to help coordinate projects during the year
  • Give voice to the student concerns for our community
  • You’ll attend 2 meetings per month – one with Student Committee and another with the elected NCVV Board on the 4th Wednesday of each month (all meetings currently held via ZOOM with hybid in-person future meetings).

  • Current school and grade
  • Month and year of birth
  • Signed parent permission form (If selected)
  • Name of one contact at school

Also in your email, please write three short paragraphs that will tell us a little about you:

  1. How can you as a Student Board Member inform your community about Valley Village and issues faced by our student population? (maximum 250 words)
  2. Why do you think you would make a good Board member and what do you hope to learn? (maximum 250 words)
  3. Tell us about yourself, and describe the experiences that motivate you in school, leadership and/or volunteer service? (maximum 250 words).

* Letter of Reference Recommended: You may attach a short one-page letter of support from a school official, activity/volunteer coordinator, or work supervisor. *This is optional and not a requirement of application.
