NCVV was honored to welcome exchange student Mizuki Suzuki from Nagoya, Japan at our July 2026 Board Meeting! Mizuki is spending part of her summer here in Valley Village, hosted by Truman King from our Student Committee, who spent several weeks in Nagoya in 2025 learning the language, culture, and history of the beautiful city known for its craftsmanship and innovation.

In July 2026, Truman returned the favor by bringing Mizuki to our meeting to learn about local government and civic engagement and has taken her to many of Los Angeles’ cultural landmarks. Mizuki shared how much she learned from sitting in on the board meeting, and we also discovered she’s a huge space fan and had the unique opportunity to tour the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena. 🚀

To celebrate this international exchange of culture, leadership, and community spirit, both Truman and Mizuki were presented with a Declaration of Appreciation from Councilmember Adrin Nazarian.

We’re so proud of these two young leaders and grateful for the global connections they’re helping build right here in Valley Village.
