Mayor Karen Bass paid a visit to Valley Village on July 24 to speak about the importance of art in the city of Los Angeles. The meeting was organized by Valley Village based art organizations Village Arts and Muralism. Village Arts provides year round opportunities in the performance and visual arts to students of all ages in the southeast San Fernando Valley. Muralism empowers persons with special needs through inclusive art projects.
The meeting featured comments from Mayor Bass, stressing the importance of arts in a strong, vibrant city, and spoke to her commitment to supporting organizations and groups that promote opportunities in the arts. She then answered questions from the audiences, comprised largely of leaders from arts organizations in the local community as well as many stakeholders from Valley Village.
