earth day

On Saturday, April 22, 2017 from 10am to 2pm, LA Sanitation will hold its second annual citywide Earth Day LA event at Exposition Park. There will be City vehicles for kids to explore, games to play, prizes to win, seeds to plant, 50+ exhibitors to visit, and fun for all ages. Free beverages and snacks are available while supplies last. All exhibits will be related to City services and sustainability. Join us for earth-friendly fun in a festival setting! There is no charge for admission, and all are welcome.

Over 50 exhibitors
The exhibitor area is so much fun, you won’t even know you’re learning! All of our exhibitors are either government or non-profit. There will be nothing for sale, but there are plenty of giveaways! Learn how to use recycled water at home, what items can go in the blue recycling bin, where to get free mulch, how to sign up for a free street tree, and much more!

City vehicles to explore
This is what the kids have been waiting for! LASAN brings out one of each truck type for kids to explore. Honk horns, operate the controls, and see what it’s like to be a collections worker! Additionally, other City departments will bring vehicles for kids to explore. Don’t forget your camera to capture those smiles!

Free food and beverage
LASAN staff will be grilling from 10am to 2pm! Platters include a choice of hot dog or chicken sandwich, served with fresh fruit and pretzels. Ice cream sandwiches, popsicles, and cold water will also be available. These treats are free for all, while supplies last.
