As breakfast concludes\, guests will be invited into the John Ferraro Council Chamber for discussions on the City’s Budget. Not only about the changes and initiatives driving the FY19/20 plan\, but the actual process and timeline. \nSpeakers for the day will include our Elected Officials\, Department Representatives\, and Budget Advocate leadership. As guests speakers are confirmed\, additional details will be released. \nFollowing the general session\, attendees will be invited to smaller working groups with members from their respective areas in the City to discuss their greatest concerns\, thoughts and suggestions on how their quality of life and how to improve it. \nHere\, each person will be able to share their priorities and get a better understanding of the Budget process to understand how they can influence the decisions made by our elected officials. Current members of the Budget Advocates will help facilitate the discussion and ensure everyone’s thoughts are documented so the Committee can incorporate them into their process this fiscal year. \nWhen the discussion is concluded\, elections will be held to fill vacant seats on the Budget Advocate Committee. DESCRIPTION:The Community Plan Update Committee of the NCVV Board will meet on Monday June 3 at Faith Presbyterian Church. At Monday’s meeting the Los Angeles Department of City Planning will present feedback from the public forums hosted in fall of 2018\, data that will help to shape the next iteration of the North Hollywood Valley Village Community Plan. This important set of guidelines will govern development in our area for the next 10 years \nAs you may recall over 100 Valley Village stakeholders packed the first meeting at North Hollywood Library and participated in group discussions about preserving character and sense of community in future development. In addition to the original meeting\, NCVV’s Community Plan Update Committee helped collect over 250 additional surveys that were submitted to the Planning Department. \nThe impact of this outstanding public input has given important guidance to the Planning Department. DESCRIPTION:LASAN holds six Open Houses every year. Each of our district yards will open to the public in a series of free Saturday events. The Open House program showcases LA Sanitation’s residential curbside collection programs with an emphasis on proper recycling practices and bulky item collection while strengthening partnerships with City residents. The Open House will feature trash trucks and equipment demonstrations in addition to facility tours\, information booths\, recycling games\, and refreshments. Last year\, more than 6\,000 residents attended the Open House events with 230+ city employees who volunteered their time to “give back” to the neighborhoods they serve throughout the year.
