Neighborhood Council Valley Village Board
Neighborhood Council Valley Village is comprised of volunteers who are committed to our community and consists of 15 Board Members elected by the stakeholders of our community. In order to give a voice to every segment of the community the Board is elected from qualified representatives as follows:

•1 Education community representative
•1 Faith Based community representative
•1 Community Based Service organization representative
•2 Business Owners representatives
•2 At-Large representatives (no specific affiliation)
•4 Renters (including apartment, condo and single family dwellings)
•4 Residential Homeowners

There is also one Student representative on the Board of Directors (non-voting). All Board members must be Community Stakeholders in Valley Village and be 18 years of age before Election Day. For more information on Board Service or the Election, contact the Elections Chair Ginny Hatfield at 818-759-8204.

Community Stakeholder
Community Stakeholders shall mean those who live, work, or own property in the neighborhood and also those who declare a stake in the neighborhood and affirm the factual basis for it.

Committees
The Neighborhood Council Valley Village Board has five committees that do much of the work of the Board and serve as important liaisons to the Board or issues related to the community. Anyone can volunteer to work with the Committees.

City Services
Chaired by Jeff Walker
The City Services Committee is responsible for representing stakeholders of Valley Village and the interests of NCVV to all departments of Los Angeles City Government, Los Angeles County and the state of California whose services are supported by tax revenue. This includes DWP, Bureau of Street Services, Sanitation, and MTA just to name a few. The City Services Committee meets once per month and more often as needed.

Communications
Chaired by Steven Stokes
The Communications Committee is responsible for NCVV Newsletter (The Bridge) and Website (myvalleyvillage.com) as well as all outreach and communications efforts to our stakeholders on behalf of NCVV and the city. The Communications Committee meets once per month and more often as needed.

Elections
Chaired by Ginny Hatfield
The Elections Committee is responsible for conducting the annual election for NCVV Board of Directors. The committee meets primarily during the 6 months before and one month after the annual election. The election date is set by NCVV bylaws for the 3rd Wednesday of October.

Planning and Land Use
Chaired by Dave Bate
The Planning and Land Use Committee is responsible for ensuring that projects proposed within Valley Village are compliant with city ordinances and codes and more importantly that they adhere to the Specific Plan of Valley Village. The Planning and Land Use Committee meets on the 2nd Wednesday of every month.

Projects
Chaired by Suzanne Lewis
The Projects Committee is responsible for all projects undertaken by NCVV that have a defined time frame and are funded either by NCVV or by other city or outside resources. Examples are annual events such as the Valley Village Birthday Party, the NCVV Grant Program, the Valley Village banner project, and management of guidelines for the Valley Village Park. The Projects Committee meets once per month and more often as needed.

Volunteer
There are many opportunities to volunteer on behalf of NCVV. Special events like the annual Valley Village Birthday Party and the Valley Village 4th of July Parade, both sponsored along with the Homeowners Association, provide many opportunities to volunteers. We also always need volunteers to help with the elections and for “National Night Out” in August. For more information on how you can volunteer, contact NCVV Vice President Ginny Hatfield at 818-759-8204.

The Neighborhood Council Valley Village is made up of individuals from our community who
are interested in improving and maintaining the quality of life of the stakeholders of Valley Village.
